The 2016 NATO Warsaw Summit took place at a critical time for the Euroatlantic partners. With threats emanating from both Europe’s East and South, NATO was confronted by a wide-array of conventional and unconventional challenges. With this in mind, the Alliance had to work in reinforcing its collective defense and adapting to a new and increasingly unpredictable security environment. The Summit also sought to strengthen partner nations and to foster ever-greater resiliency within the Alliance.

Fitting its mission to strengthen transatlantic cooperation, GMF led a comprehensive programming initiative in the months leading up to the Summit. GMF informed the discussion on critical topics surrounding the Summit by producing research and analysis and convening key experts and policy makers in DC and across its European offices in Berlin, Brussels, Paris, and Warsaw.
