Miguel Vieira is GMF’s vice president for resource development. He has 15 years of experience in philanthropy and strategic partnerships at leading institutions including American University, the Aspen Institute, and the Brookings Institution, where he led the development team in the Foreign Policy program. He most recently served as senior director of strategic philanthropy at the World Wildlife Fund, where he worked with major donors to secure lasting conservation efforts in Colombia, Namibia, Nepal, and the US Great Plains.
Vieira has led high-performing teams and major fundraising initiatives involving individual, corporate, foundation, and government partners. He holds a master’s degree in international affairs from American University and a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Rutgers University.
