GMF Executive Vice President Derek Chollet Selected as Counselor of the Department of State

Washington, January 18, 2021—The German Marshall Fund of the United States congratulates Derek Chollet, Executive Vice President, on his selection by President-elect Biden as Counselor of the Department of State.  Derek will serve the Secretary of State as special advisor and as a consultant on major problems of foreign policy in this Under Secretary-level role, which does not require Senate confirmation.
