About this event

It is our privilege to invite you to GMF’s upcoming event, “Kherson Human Safari”. This film screening and panel discussion will be hosted as part of the EU-Ukraine Business Summit, an event organized by European Business Summits and the European Commission ahead of the 2026 Ukraine Recovery Conference.

"Kherson: Human Safari", by US war correspondent Zarina Zabrisky, captures Kherson’s occupation, resistance, liberation, flooding, and ongoing attacks, including Russia’s “human safari” targeting civilians with drones. Critically acclaimed by major world publications, it has been screened in 14 countries and was featured at the 2026 Munich Security Conference. The film was previously screened on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, at the Berlin Doxumentale Festival, and in Brussels by Ukrainian Voices. Endorsed by United24, the Ukrainian Armed Forces, multiple embassies, and human rights organizations, it delivers urgent testimony from the frontlines.

As GMF launches its new project Unbreakable Europe, drawing directly on Ukraine’s frontline experience in Kherson and elsewhere, this screening and panel discussion offer a window into Ukraine’s lived experience of modern warfare and resilience. It will serve as a platform for dialogue with European stakeholders on how EU‑led support, policy responses, and legal frameworks can be strengthened to address emerging security threats, prevent civilian lives from being treated as collateral damage, and advance Russia's accountability for war crimes.
