Matthew Delmastro is a program assistant based in GMF’s Berlin office, where he supports a variety of projects including the Transatlantic Task Force project, the Toward a New Storyline project, and the Weimar and America workshop series. He also coordinates the Berlin chapter of the Young Transatlantic Network of Future Leaders (YTN) along with Anne Flotho-Liersch. His research interests include the future of liberalism and liberal democracy, populist movements, and European and US foreign policy.

He holds two Master’s degrees, one in political science from the University of Konstanz and a second in international relations from Charles University in Prague. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in political science and German studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and he completed a study exchange at the Free University of Berlin. In addition to his native English, he speaks German and French.
