Sherrese Smith Joins GMF Board of Trustees
Washington, DC – The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) is delighted to announce the appointment of Global Managing Partner of Paul Hastings LLP Sherrese Smith to the GMF Board of Trustees.
As global managing partner of Paul Hastings LLP, Ms. Smith helps direct the growth, management, and strategy of the firm. For the last ten years she has been consistently ranked as a leading lawyer in Chambers USA and Legal 500. She is recognized by her peers throughout the legal, media, communications, and technology industries for her leadership, business acumen, and dedication to clients.

Before joining Paul Hastings LLP, Ms. Smith served as chief counsel to Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski, and as vice president and general counsel of Washington Post Digital.
Ms. Smith serves on the Boards of Directors of Gen Digital and Cable One. She is also vice chair of the Northwestern Pritzker Law Board and a member of the Board of Visitors of the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and a JD from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.
