About this event
GMF and the Philon Fund for Transatlantic Partnership invite you to a conversation with Ruben Gallego, US Senator for Arizona and alumnus of GMF’s Transatlantic Inclusion Leaders Network. The conversation will be the fourth in an annual series of lectures and discussions featuring senior government officials and other prominent individuals on issues of Mediterranean, transatlantic, and global concern.
As China, Russia, and Iran become more assertive in the Eastern Mediterranean, Senator Gallego and GMF president Alexandra de Hoop Scheffer will discuss America's evolving policy toward Europe and this increasingly crisis-prone region, including relations with Greece and Turkey.
The Alexander Philon Fund for the Transatlantic Partnership was created in 2021 to honor the diplomatic career of Ambassador Alexander Philon and his contributions to transatlantic cooperation. At GMF, the Fund supports the work of GMF South through the Philon Lecture, an annual lecture and conversation on Mediterranean affairs, as well as GMF’s Marshall Memorial Fellows program.
