There is a long list of deficits when it comes to the German Armed Forces, including staff shortages, the high number of foreign missions, poor equipment- among other issues. Federal Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen recently announced she has increased personnel, the question is whether this is the long-awaited solution for this problem. In this radio interview in German, Christian Mölling, senior resident fellow at the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), the members of the German parliament Rainer Arnold from the Social Democratic party, Tobias Lindner from the Green Party, as well as the former High Commissioner for the armed forces Hellmut Königshaus discuss this matter.
