Carrie Filipetti currently serves as the Executive Director of the Vandenberg Coalition. Prior to this role, Carrie served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Cuba and Venezuela in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs and the Deputy Special Representative for Venezuela at the U.S. Department of State, for which she received a Superior Honor Award. From 2019-2020, Carrie also served as the Senior Advisor to the Havana Incidents Task Force, where she was responsible for coordinating an inter-agency effort to address the causes of unexplained health incidents affecting U.S. personnel, and identifying proper long-term care mechanisms. Prior to these roles, Carrie served as a Senior Policy Advisor for the United States Mission to the United Nations (USUN), where she advised U.S. Ambassador Nikki R. Haley on issues related to counterterrorism, the Middle East, and the Western Hemisphere.

Arancha González Laya is the Dean of the Paris School of International Affairs at Sciences Po.

Ms. González was Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain (2020-July 2021). She served as United Nations Assistant Secretary-General and Executive Director of the International Trade Centre, the joint trade development agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organisation (2013 to 2019). Between 2005 and 2013 Ms. González was Chief of Staff to World Trade Organization Director-General Pascal Lamy and his representative (Sherpa) at the G-20.

Prior to that Ms. González held several positions at the European Commission in the area of external relations. Ms. González began her career as an associate in a German law firm advising companies on trade, competition and state-aid matters.

She serves in the Mission Committee of Danone and is a member of the International Advisory Council of the European House-Ambrosetti.

A Spanish national, Ms. González holds a degree in law from the University of Navarra and a postgraduate degree in European Law from the University of Carlos III, Madrid.

Dr. Claudia Major is GMF's senior vice president overseeing transatlantic security initiatives and is an executive team member. Previously, Dr. Major was the director of the International Security Division at the German think tank Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP) in Berlin. Her research, advisory work, and publications focus on the field of German security and defense policy, European security and defense policy (NATO, the EU, role of the United States), deterrence and nuclear (dis)order, and the Franco-German relationship. Currently, she is particularly focused on the repercussions of Russia’s war against Ukraine for Europe, the transatlantic relationship, the nuclear order, and international relations; options to end the war in Ukraine; and how to ensure the long-term security of Europe and Ukraine.

Dr. Major previously held positions at the Center for Security Studies at the ETH Zurich, the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP), the EU Institute for Security Studies (Paris), the NATO Department of the German Foreign Office, and Sciences Po Paris. She was and is a member of various committees, such as the Advisory Board for Civilian Crisis Prevention of the German Federal Foreign Office (20102024), the Advisory Board of the Federal Ministry of Defense on "leadership development and civic education" (Innere Führung) (since 2023) and the German-British Königswinter Conference. She holds a diploma from the Free University of Berlin and Sciences Po Paris and a PhD from the University of Birmingham (UK).

Dr. Major was made a Knight of the French Order of Merit (Chevalier dans l'ordre national du Mérite) and has been awarded the Estonian Cross of Merit.

Lucy Fyler is the Senior Communications Manager for GMF, based out of Washington, DC. Lucy is responsible for developing and implementing communications strategies for the organization and elevating the profiles of GMF and its experts in the press.

Before joining GMF, Lucy worked for global public affairs firm, Portland Communications, where she advised clients across governments, international organizations, and the private sector on messaging, stakeholder engagement, strategic advocacy and communications campaigns, and the US media landscape. Previously, Lucy managed non-profit media and public affairs campaigns at No Kid Hungry and the National Immigration Forum to help pass legislation at the US state and federal level. She also spent time interning in US Congress and UK Parliament. ​​

Lucy has a master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, where she studied European politics and transatlantic affairs, and holds a bachelor’s in international relations and history from Tufts University. ​
