Innovative & Inclusive Cities programming explores the common challenges facing U.S. and European cities in spurring inclusive economic growth that drives innovation, attracts and retains talent, and supports entrepreneurship.

European and U.S. cities face a myriad challenges in the 21st century that demand new approaches to stimulating economic development in response to global competition. GMF’s Urban and Regional Policy Program provides a platform for city leaders and policymakers from both sides of the Atlantic to convene and develop new ways to encourage innovative and inclusive economic growth. By collaborating creatively though workshops, study tours, and peer exchanges, public and private sector leaders are exploring different dimensions to this theme including supporting regional innovation clusters; aligning education and workforce systems to economic development priorities; engaging anchor institutions in economic development strategies; and stimulating entrepreneurship.
