The Mediterranean poses a set of unique challenges to the NATO alliance, with complex threats from both state and non-state actors. The logic of NATO involvement and partnerships across the Mediterranean is evident, but partners for cooperation and conditions for dialogue continuously evolve.

GMF is leading analysis and debate on NATO’s Mediterranean strategy and presence. Through its work on NATO’s Mediterranean Dialogue Partnership and transatlantic security in general, GMF experts address NATO’s evolving interests and priorities in the region, and offers policy recommendations on how to adapt NATO’s strategy.
