Impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump are going to fail. Will the Democrats thereby hand him a second term?

These days the world public is tensely looking toward Washington. It has been fifty days since the Democratic leader in the U.S. House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, announced that her party would seek impeachment proceedings against President Trump. The public testimony of high-level staff from the State Department and the National Security Council have commenced.

The reason for these hearing is the request of the U.S. president to the Ukrainian government to collect evidence against Joe Biden, the former U.S. vice president and current Democratic hopeful for the U.S. presidency, as well as against his son, who was sitting on the board of Ukrainian gas company Burisma. It is claimed that the release of extensive U.S. military support to Ukraine was tied by Trump to this request.
