Christopher Schaefer is GMF’s Washington, DC-based press officer.
He is a postdoctoral affiliate in the faculty of history at the University of Cambridge, where he recently completed his PhD. His doctoral dissertation focused on the International Herald Tribune with an emphasis on the emergence of global media before the digital revolution and its relationship to US foreign policy. He is preparing the dissertation for publication.
Schaefer has taught American history to Cambridge undergraduates and served from 2021 to 2023 as managing editor of Tocqueville 21, a Franco-American online publication associated with the Tocqueville Review/la Revue Tocqueville, which addresses issues about 21st-century democracy.
